Iowa Funeral Director’s Scholarships provide students interested in mortuary science with funding to attend school. The amount of the scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per student. Iowa United Methodist Foundation Scholarships provides award of up to $2,500. In order to be eligible, students must be residents of Iowa. A number of different scholarships are offered to students graduating from an Iowa high school who has been involved in a United Methodist Church. Vicent L. Hawkinson Foundation Scholarship provides five scholarships of up to $5,000 to students from eligible states, including Iowa. In order to be eligible, students must demonstrate a vision of peace and social justice. This may involve participation in a peace project, serving as a role model, or other activities. Applicants must indicate how the scholarship money will be used to further their sense of peace of justice and how they will continue to promote their vision among other people. Robert D. Blue Scholarship provides awards that range from $500 to $1,000 to eligible students. These awards are given based on academic excellence and moral character. In order to be eligible, students must reside in Iowa and plan to attend a college or university within the state of Iowa. Iowa Scholarship for the Arts provides awards of $1,500 to high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in the arts. Students must complete an application prior to the February 2nd deadline. In order to be eligible, students must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university within Iowa. Furthermore, students must plan to major in one of the following areas: literature, music, theatre, visual arts, dance, or traditional arts. Iowa Grants are offered to students who are residents of Iowa. Students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or plan to enroll as an undergraduate. Any student taking at least six credits at an in-state college or university is eligible for this award. In order to apply, students must complete the FAFSA.
