Those that are interested in attending Westminster College in Utah and are a child of a single parent, there are scholarships for children of single parents available through this institution. Awarding students up to nearly six-thousand dollars a year, this scholarship opportunity is reserved for those who not only have a single parent but those that are a single parent as well.
A criterion of this scholarship is that all students must be enrolled at Westminster College in Utah and they must also be a woman. Students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA prior to applying and must provide academic proof of this fact. Kathleen McVey Memorial Scholarship
Another of the scholarships for children of single parents that students can apply for is the Kathleen McVey Memorial Scholarship. Students that with to apply for this grant and financial aid, which is worth a few thousand dollars and potentially renewable, must meet certain application criteria. They must be accepted into the College of Redwoods and must be pursuing a degree in nursing.
All students must demonstrate academic prowess by carrying a GPA of 2.5 and they must also be a single parent or a child thereof. While the scholarship committee will review each application individually, there are certain aspects that can make a candidate standout. Kentucky Colonel’s Better Life Scholarship
For those that are either a single parent themselves or who are a child of those who did the job of parenthood on their own, one of the scholarships for children of single parents available is the Kentucky’s Colonel’s Better Life Scholarship. This scholarship offers nearly three-thousand dollars in financial aid for students attending college.
Those that wish to apply must be pursuing a degree at a particular Kentucky college: Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.
