Though not necessarily part of the scholarships for black hair group of financial aid opportunities, the AETNA Scholarship is given to a group that consistently and over time has demonstrated a genetic pre-disposition to darker hued hair: African Americans. The AETNA Scholarship is promoted by the National Black Nurses Association and is given to those individuals who are interested in obtaining a degree in the field of nursing and who self-identify as black or African-American.
Again, while not solely based upon the color of hair an individual has, this scholarship opportunity is great for those who are in this minority category and who want to find an opportunity to pay for college without having to reach deep into their own pockets. There are restrictions that apply in order to be eligible for this award, including being a minority, demonstrating financial need, and accepted into an accredited nursing program.

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Scholarships
Another time when those minority students can find financial opportunities is through the AICPA scholarship program. Again, not necessarily specifically scholarships for black hair, this program is devoted to helping minority students—especially African American students—find the resources that they need to pursue a degree in the field of accounting.
For more information on this scholarship, those interested are encouraged to apply by visiting this link. Among the different award criteria that will be reviewed, however, is a students demonstrated abilities in the classroom, an expression of an interest in working in the field of accounting, and proof of financial need. Across the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been awarded to students. In fact, in the last year alone, scholarship dollars have reached nearly three-hundred thousand dollars in award monies. For that reason, those that are interested are encouraged to learn more and to become a part of the AICPA community of scholars.
