[Job Opening] Freelance SEO Content Editor

Are you an SEO-minded content editor who loves transforming outdated articles into traffic-driving powerhouses?

Do you know how to spot keyword gaps, align with user intent, and structure posts that Google and readers love?

Are you detail-oriented, results-driven, and comfortable working within clear briefs and editorial processes?

Then it sounds like you’re the right fit for our new freelance SEO Content Editor role.

What it’s like to optimize our articles

We’re on a mission to make our existing content the best answer on the internet for financial questions people are actively searching on both search engines and LLMs.

Each SEO revamp is more than a light edit—it’s a strategic overhaul designed to improve performance in organic search, drive more traffic, and better serve our readers. You’ll follow a proven process designed by our content team, and work within WordPress using clear Airtable briefs and editorial documentation.

What you’ll do:

  • Refresh outdated articles using SEO best practices and our detailed revamp playbook
  • Target stronger, more winnable keywords using Ahrefs and GSC data
  • Identify and add valuable subtopics to win in SERPs and AI overviews
  • Align articles tightly with search intent and improve content clarity
  • Update metadata, schema, ToC, jump links, and structured headings
  • Rewrite intros and summaries to hook readers and satisfy intent fast
  • Highlight key facts, tables, and figures to improve scannability and usability
  • Optimize for snippet wins and AI summaries (when applicable)

Each revamp takes between 20–60 minutes, occasionally more, depending on complexity and word count.

About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 2+ years of experience with personal finance, fintech, or similar YMYL topics
  • Have 2+ years of SEO content experience (editing, optimizing, or writing)
  • Are fluent in best practices to optimize for search engines and LLMs, including keyword research, writing clear and structured headings, editing/rewriting content to more clearly address reader queries, and metadata optimization
  • Understand how to align content with user intent and search behavior
  • Are comfortable using Ahrefs, GSC, and ChatGPT for research and ideation
  • Can make strategic, thoughtful improvements—not just surface-level tweaks
  • Write and edit clearly, concisely, and with purpose (no fluff or filler)
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to spot and fix content issues
  • Are confident using WordPress and collaborative tools like Airtable and Google Docs
