Eating healthy is a choice that all of us should make. The food that is consumed on a daily basis helps to build the body, increase the stamina of the muscles and life processes, and helps to build a better life. While this is a motivation for many eating habits of individuals, others have something else in mind. Vegans, for example, work to eat nothing that is made from animal or produced by them in the case of foods like dairy and eggs.
This adherence to a strict diet can help create a clean and sustainable lifestyle and also can hold moral and religious value as well. For those that eat vegan, the challenges of finding food that is appropriate can be difficult. For those who do adhere to this lifestyle, however, there is a benefit available through vegan scholarships.

The Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarships
The Vegetarian Resource Group is one of the largest promoters and defenders of vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. They create a community of individuals who adhere to this lifestyle and promote the sharing of knowledge and information in regards to how to start and maintain a vegan eating approach. Among the different ways that they do this is through scholarships. There are two scholarships given annually to students who maintain a vegetarian lifestyle.
These scholarships are awarded in the amount of five thousand dollars each and are highly competitive. But, they can be very helpful in promoting the growth and education of those who adhere to clean eating habits. Though the Vegetarian Resource Group is named for vegetarians, the overlap in communities is great. That is why these are considered great opportunities for those seeking vegan scholarships. Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship
Another great opportunity for those seeking vegan scholarships is the Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship. Specifically reserved for those in New England, this award is given to individuals that are completing their senior of high school and who are highly involved in the animal community. Sponsored by the Human Society, this scholarship has been around for over forty years and has provided thousands of dollars in aid to students that want to take their love of animals to the next level by pursuing a degree in a related field.
One of the criteria, aside from the year of school enrollment, for those that want to apply is that they have a great adherence to caring for animals and the promotion of their care. This can take many forms but the reason that this is considered one of the opportunities for vegan scholarships is that those who live a vegan lifestyle are already demonstrating this passion.
All those that wish to apply must be attending a school in New England and must be able to provide proof of this as well as residency. Further, they must also be accepted into an accredited program of higher learning at the time of the application. For more information or to apply, click here.
