Physician’s Assistants are in demand throughout the country. These valuable professionals bridge the gap between doctors and patient in an interesting and unique way. While not quite at the professional level as a physician, this group is taking over many of the duties previously reserved for medical doctors.
As such, they are allowing more patients access to affordable care. The growing demand in the field is being recognized and more and more tools are utilized in order to incentivize individuals and students to pursue this career path.
For those interested in becoming a PA, several different institutions of higher learning are available and specialized schooling as well. As such, these students should know, too, about the opportunities for scholarships for PA school that can be financially rewarding and mentally freeing when it comes to alleviating the worry over funding a PA school education and all that that entails.

Physician Assistant Foundation Scholarships
There are several different nonprofit and professional organizations that exist as a way to give back to the communities in which they are a part. Among them is the Physician Assistant Foundation. This foundation is based solely on the premise and goal of helping those interested parties in obtaining more information about PA school as well as finding information pertaining to the resources needed to apply and be accepted. Among the different resources available are PA Student Scholarships.
These scholarships are awarded to student members of the Physician Assistant Foundation and who are accepted into an accredited program in the field. Those interested must be not only accepted but enrolled in said program and they must have completed at least one semester prior to being awarded a scholarship. All students must provide proof of financial need and academic ability in the field through their coursework transcripts. For more information on this scholarship, this link has all of the details.
NHSC Loan Repayment Program
Scholarships and financial awards can take many different forms. The one of the ways that individuals can receive scholarships for PA school is through federally subsidized loan programs. Yes, in theory, these loans need to be paid back. But, if a loan is taken through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, it can serve as a scholarship of sorts. This is because the NHSC loan repayment program will actually give a portion of the financial dollars that were borrowed back to the individual. That means that the loan in its full amount need not be repaid fully.
As such, individuals who are eligible for the program and who complete a National Health Service Corp (NHSC) approved program successfully can essentially fund their education for a fraction of the original cost. For more information on this program and the criteria needing to be met in order to participate, this government program’s website can be found by clicking this link here. Also, interested parties should talk to their educational institutes for details on this program as well as any other scholarships for PA school that may be institution-specific.
