When it comes to business and enterprise, these organizations are not all about making profit for profits sake. Many of the larger companies, businesses, and enterprises that exist create funds or special financing projects to give back to the communities and citizens that have been so good to them. These businesses may do community improvement projects like building homes or other resources for the disadvantaged. They may back organizations that help those battling a particular disease or life issue. Another way that businesses give back is through scholarship opportunities, and the pizza chain Pizza Hut is no exception.
Pizza Hut Details
Pizza Hut is best known for delivering unique and personalized pizzas in their different network of stores. Because these pizza shops are often franchised, there are several different Pizza Hut locations throughout the country, all providing amazing and delicious food offerings. But, Pizza Hut does not stand alone as a singular restaurant under one business name.
This means that there is a parent brand that actually owns and operates this network of restaurants. Known as the Yum! Brand, Pizza Hut is actually a sister store to other popular fast food chains like KFC and Taco Bell. Therefore, the Pizza Hut scholarship is not for just pizza hut participants. It is open to other employees in these organizations as well.
The Pizza Hut Scholarship
The Pizza Hut Scholarship, based upon the information above, is actually known officially as The Yum! Andy Pearson Scholarship and is given annually in the amount of twenty-five hundred dollars. The scholarship is given with the end goal of helping those who meet all eligibility requirements to pursue a degree in the field of their choice without having the full financial burden that paying for college out of pocket would require. Like so many other scholarships available to students, there are eligibility requirements for the Pizza Hut Scholarship. These details are expounded upon below.
The Pizza Hut Scholarship is open to company employees and employees only. Applicants, again, need not be just employees of Pizza Hut but one of the Yum! Brand’s other restaurants and establishments as well. That means that applicants can be from Taco Bell, KFC, Long John Silver’s, A&W, or Pizza Hut.
Eligible employees must have been employed for at least six months and have averaged a minimum of fifteen hours a week working. Further, these applicants must also be high school seniors or recent graduates of this level of education. Those who have earned their GED are also eligible to apply. Because the Pizza Hut Scholarship is given to help aid in the academic pursuits of those wishing to better their lives and their station in it, there is an academic requirement.
All those that will be considered must have a GPA between 2.0 and 4.0 or better. Further, at the time that the scholarship is awarded, the applicant must be employed and plan on staying employed with a Yum! Brand restaurant.
