Ohio State University offers a number of scholarships. For incoming freshmen, the university provides merit scholarships. All incoming students are automatically considered when applying. A few of the scholarships have separate steps to complete.
OSU Merit Scholarships are competitive and offered to students who are U.S. citizens and who plan to enroll who fall semester. These scholarships are renewable up to eight terms. Students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a grade of average of at least 3.2. These scholarships may not be combined with other types of aid. Students are automatically considered for these awards. The below scholarships require additional steps on the part of the students. Eminence Fellow Program and Scholarship is one of the most prestigious awards offered by OSU. It provides students’ funding that covers the full tuition expenses for all for years of study. In addition, a $3,000 enrichment grant is awarded after freshman year. In order to be eligible, students must rank in the top three percent of their high school class. In addition, students must have high scores on their standardized tests. Students must also indicate the interest in the Honors program.
Morrill Scholarships Program provides scholarships and additional career development experiences to students from minority backgrounds who show exceptional promise. Students must demonstrate involvement in advocating for diversity issues. The award can cover up to full tuition.
Maximus Scholarship provides funding worth $5,700 each year for four years. This award is open to students who ranked within the top three percent of their high school class and who have strong standardized tests scores.
Provost Scholarship provides awards of $2,850. This award is provided every year for four years. It is open to students who graduated within the top ten percent of their high school class and who have strong scores on the ACT or SAT.
Trustees Scholarships provides funding worth $1,900 per year for four years. Students must have scored within the top 20 percent of their high school class and who have strong SAT or ACT scores.

In addition to the above scholarships, OSU offers the National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents. This award can be combined with some of the above awards. Students who rank in the top 40% of their high school class are eligible to receive $11,400 per year for four years. Students must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average.
