Health Service Loan Forgiveness Program

The Nevada Health Service Corps was founded in 1989. The goal of this agency was to provide medical care—and the physicians and practitioners required—to underserved populations that are often at an economic disadvantage when it comes to medical care. In order to help create opportunities and incentives for practitioners to focus on this area of the state, the Nevada Health Service Corps create a loan forgiveness program. This program varies in the amount of funds that it provides to individuals but is given to those that work in the aforementioned medically disadvantaged areas of the state.

To be eligible, all individuals must meet at least the following:

  • Must be a qualifying professional in the health field
  • Must meet all state licensure requirements
  • Must not have any restrictions on state licensure
  • Must be hired for full-time medical duties
