Justice Program

The John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program offers students in the state of Michigan up to sixty-thousand dollars toward their student loan debt. Those that wish to apply, as with this program in other states, must be either a state or federal public defender. State prosecutors can also apply. Those that are employed in these fields and would like to receive the benefits of these programs must be a US citizen and have outstanding loans. Legal residents who are not US citizens may also apply, providing they have proof of such a designation.

Other program requirements include:

  • Must be a legal attorney at one of the aforementioned locations and in those fields
  • Must have a license to practice law within the state
  • Must have a license in good standing with no restrictions
  • Must work with or for a population of need, based upon the Justice Program designation
  • Must work in an approved area or profession

General Michigan Loan Repayment Program

The state of Michigan offers those in the health field a reward for their service if they are working in an HPSA area for a nonprofit organization. If an individual meets all qualifications and works for a minimum of two years, they can earn up to an astonishing two-hundred thousand dollars. All sites must be approved as well as medical field.
