Maryland Student Loan Forgiveness Programs

The state of Maryland has many great attractions and schools that drive people to the region. Another reason that people come is because of the Maryland student loan forgiveness programs. Dental Care Loan Repayment Program

The state of Maryland offers a loan repayment program that is specifically geared toward dentists. Specifically, they provide aid to those that are providing dental treatments to those in the underserved populations of Maryland. The Maryland Dent Care Loan Assistance Repayment Program offers individuals up to about twenty-four thousand years, renewable for up to three years.

Those that are interested need to:

  • Must work full time
  • Must work at an approved and underserved site
  • Must take on MMAP for a minimum of one-third of the time
  • Must be a member of the Healthy Smiles program
  • Must provide monthly reports to the Office of Oral Health in the state with all required and recorded information

Educational Loan Repayment Program

Maryland knows and recognizes that there needs to be a network of individuals, groups, and qualified professionals helping those in the underserved populations of the state. That is why they developed the Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program. This program provides a varied amount of assistance to individuals that work full-time in either government—be it state or local—or in a nonprofit organization that focuses mainly on helping the socioeconomically depressed or another underserved population.

Teachers Awards

The Nancy Grasmick Teacher Award is given to, as the name suggests, educators within the state that serve in STEM field or those that work in a school where seventy-five percent of the student population receives school meal assistance. Those that wish to apply must also meet all of the minimum requirements of the aforementioned and discussed Janet L. Hoffman Program. They must also have student loan debt and have taught in the state of Maryland for the previous forty-eight months.
