Technical sciences are a field that is growing. IT knowledge is vital to ensuring that all devices run smoothly and are as functional as possible for the long haul. Those that study IT find that their certification—be it at a two or four-year institution—is absolutely crucial in giving them the momentum they need to enter into the field.
These certificates, however, cost money and can be very prohibitive in who can have the funding necessary to pursue their dreams. Luckily, there are great scholarships available for those that want to study the technology fields and help them to get on track for their education, financially at least. For those that are interested, the following are some of the different IT scholarships that are available.
AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program
When it comes to studying IT, it is important to find the scholarships that are going to provide value to your pocketbook and your personal pursuits. Often times, the impetus for success financial and the best IT scholarships comes from organizations that know and understand the value of the AAAS organization is one such group that knows and understands the importance of having a good and solid education and is willing to help those who want to attend school to do so through their scholarships.
The AAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Scholarship from AAAS is all about giving back and provides individuals the opportunity to earn up to thousands of dollars in tuition reimbursement. This scholarship requires that students be in IT, biology, geology, or another science field. They must be currently enrolled in an accredited program and they must be willing to attend an orientation at the program headquarters. Arkansas High-Tech Scholarship Program
Sometimes, it is not the general organizations in the field that see the need for helping those who want to get back to school to find the funds to do it but the government agencies that could use these skills. This is the case when it comes to the Arkansas High-Tech Scholarship Program.
Sponsored by government agencies, this program is designed to provide individuals up to $250 per semester—capping at $500 annually—to pursue degrees in technology. Those that wish to apply must be high school graduates from an Arkansas high school and they must be enrolled at least full-time in college. All those who apply must be attending an accredited University or college in Arkansas and they must demonstrate leadership both inside and outside of the classroom. AOC Scholarship Programs
For other IT scholarships, there is the AOC organization. This educational and military group focuses on getting the defense leaders of America educated today to utilize their talents tomorrow. There are over twenty chapters throughout the country, each of which has an active membership that can be accessed for hundreds of dollars in scholarships. Among the criteria for those that apply for these IT scholarship is that they must be enrolled in an accredited program and they must be willing to visit the headquarters, as well as demonstrate financial need and community leadership.
