A high school education is important to providing an educational and social foundation regarding the set of skills that are necessary for a successful transition to a college career. While many think of high schools—especially in the United States—as external places of learning, this is not the case for every student. Thousands of children throughout the U.S. are taught in classrooms that are within their own home or in a qualifying and accredited homeschooling environment. This poses additional challenges and benefits for students and the segment of the population choosing this route is growing each year.
For those that are homeschooled, the dreams of pursuing a college education are no different than those that learn in a traditional high school setting. Many organizations back individuals who wish to learn at home, both through their high school learning experience and through their collegiate experience.

This support can come in a wide variety of ways, but among them are homeschool scholarships that are specifically developed to aid these students to pursue their next level of education. For more information on a few of these scholarship opportunities, the following discusses two homeschool scholarships that are available for participants in this field of learning.
Oral Roberts University
Oral Roberts University is a Christian college that believes that students from all walks of life and backgrounds have tremendous potential to succeed in college. Therefore, they have created several different financial aid opportunities for the students that come to their university. Among the different opportunities are homeschool scholarships. Homeschool scholarships are given to students at the university who have graduated from a home school.
Those that wish to apply must have had at least four years of education in this setting. Further, those who are homeschooled must provide proof of this education through a variety of different ways. Those who are awarded this scholarship need to be accepted into the university and enrolled in one of the many degree programs offered within it. Therefore, the only way to apply for this award is by directly contacting the University’s financial aid department which can be found by accessing this link.
Klipsan Beach Life Savings Station Homeschool Scholarship
The Klipsan Beach Life Savings Station Homeschool Scholarships are homeschool scholarships that are given to students who graduate from a homeschooling program. Those that wish to apply must be homeschooled—as the name suggests—and they must provide proof of this in their application.
All applicants must have learned in this setting for a minimum of three years. SAT and ACT results are needed when submitting an application and those that are awarded must prove involvement in their communities. Further, this community service must have taken place throughout their high school careers, whether all four years were spent in homeschooling environments or were a combination of educational areas.
Finally, those that wish to apply must have been accepted into an accredited college or university and they must also complete an essay in order to have a completed application. These essay prompts can vary from year to year so those interested are encouraged to click the link here to learn about all of the current scholarship deadlines and information.
