Chick-Fil-A has long established itself as a leader in social responsibility. In addition to this, many people love Chick-Fil-A for their waffle fries and yummy chicken sandwiches. Chick-Fil-A has two primary scholarships that they offer to make college education more affordable to students. The two scholarships that they offer are called the Chick-Fil-A Leadership scholarships and the S. Truett Cathy Scholarship Award. Each program has some distinctions in funding and eligibility. These differences are outlined below, along with eligibility criteria and other pertinent information about each of these scholarships.
Chick-Fil-A Leadership Scholarships were developed as a mechanism to promote continuing education of Chick-Fil-A employees. This award is not open to any employee. Rather, only the most exceptional employees are invited to apply for these scholarships. As such, an employee must receive sponsorship from their immediate supervisor in order to apply for the award. However, winning the award requires more than just a strong work ethic.

Employees are also expected to have demonstrated leadership skills. They are also expected to show that they have been active participants in their community, such as through volunteering in the community or engaging in other types of service to their school, church, or community at large. There is an age requirement and no one over the age of thirty may apply for this award. Furthermore, students are required to graduate high school and show the ability to work well with a team. The scholarship provides $1,000 worth of funding. Students must work at least twenty hours per week at a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in order to apply for these awards. The number of these awards varies each year and more information can be found at: https://www.chick-fil-a.com/Inside-Chick-fil-A/What-to-Know-About-Chick-Fil-As-Scholarship-Program. To date, over three hundred awards have been granted to help employees achieve their dreams of obtaining a degree.
The top twenty five Chick-Fil-A Leadership Scholarship winners are also awarded an additional award called the S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award. This provides a supplemental amount of $1,000 to those top employees.
Georgia Tech Chick-Fil-A Scholarships are offered to undergraduate students who have graduate from any public Atlanta high school. Preference is given to students who have been engaged with the “Play It Smart” program.
In addition to these awards, Chick-Fil-A also offers something called the WinShape Foundation scholarships. Thus far, over 1,000 students have been granted a minimum of $4,000 per year. These scholarships are geared towards students at Berry College. The funds are aimed at improving leadership within the Christian community. The WinShape foundation supports a variety of different programs, including camps, retreats, and college programs. More information about WinShape can be found at this website: http://www.winshape.org/programs.
In addition to searching within Chick-Fil-A for scholarships, employees may want to consider applying to other grants. The skills that they have learned through their work experience at Chick-Fil-A, such as hard work, dedication, and commitment, are certainly valued by other funding agencies.
