Architecture is an important field of study that promotes the betterment of the world around us. Architectural design students know that they are not only creating buildings, they are creating homes, businesses, and communities. This course of study is a rigorous one, no matter where the college is located, and can be costly. That is why so many individuals that are pursuing this path look for ways to help pay for this academic endeavor. There are several different industry and career specific scholarships available for those that are interested in a variety of different career paths. Architecture is no exception to this rule. The following focuses on a discussion of a few of the options that those that want to attend college in the field of architecture have at their disposal and how to apply for these architecture scholarships.
American Architecture Foundation Scholarship
Some of the best architecture scholarships come from those in the field and organizations that support them because they understand the importance of the work that is being done through this profession. The Alabama Concrete Association is an example of one of these organizations. The Alabama Concrete Industries Association Foundation believes in creating the foundation that individuals need in order to pursue the careers that they want by providing individuals additional resources to do just that. The Alabama Concreate Architecture Foundation Scholarship is an example of one of these gifts of money and financial aid to those pursuing careers in the field. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, which can range up to eight-thousand dollars annual, an individual must be a senior in college pursuing a degree in the architecture field or a similar one in engineering or other construction related program. American Institute of Architects
The American Institute of Architects is another organization that offers individuals the chance to earn money for college based upon the career path they have chosen and their interest in the area of architecture. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) offers architecture scholarships for minority students. Specifically, the AIA Minority Disadvantaged Scholarship Program was specifically designed to help high school graduates and those already attending college who are minorities find the funds that they need to pursue a degree in architecture. To be eligible, students must be attending, enrolled, or accepted into a collegiate program in the area of architecture. They must also be either a college freshmen or high school senior at the time of application. Associated General Contractors of Minnesota
The Associated General Contractors of Minnesota, an organization that has numerous different members from across the state, offers scholarships for individuals as well. Those that wish to apply must be enrolled in a college or university in Minnesota in one of their architecture or construction programs.
